Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced People Partner (HR) to support our East African operations, with Kenya as the initial base. The role will be responsible for partnering with managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, people operations and employee engagement. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded HR professional who is confident working with managers, able to navigate complex people matters, and capable of translating business needs into effective people initiatives that support both employee and organizational outcomes.

Job Details

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Management 

  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programmes for new hires. 
  • Ensure completion of all employment documentation. 
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases. 
  • Manage employee confirmations, promotions, transfers, contract renewals, and exits. 
  • Coordinate offboarding processes, including exit interviews and final documentation. 

Employee Relations 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee enquiries and HR-related issues. 
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace investigations. 
  • Advise managers on employee relations issues and recommend appropriate actions. 
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment. 
  • Support conflict resolution and promote employee well-being. 

Compensation & Benefits 

  • Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, pensions, leave, and other welfare programmes. 
  • Ensure timely processing of employee changes affecting payroll. 

HR Operations & Administration 

  • Maintain employee files and ensure HR documentation is complete and confidential. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and employment legislation. 
  • Manage leave administration and attendance records. 
  • Support HR audits and compliance reviews. 

 

Employee Engagement & Culture 

  • Plan and coordinate employee engagement initiatives. 
  • Organise wellness programmes, recognition activities, and company events. 
  • Support employee communication initiatives.   
  • Promote organizational values and culture. 

HR Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory requirements. 
  • Maintain up-to-date HR policies and employee handbook. 
  • Support workplace health and safety initiatives. 
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information at all times. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution. 
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within a structured corporate environment. 
  • Registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Kenya. 
  • Strong knowledge of the Employment Act, 2007, Labour Relations Act, 2007, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), 2007
  • Data Protection Act, 2019, NSSF Act, NHIF/SHIF regulations, Housing Levy, PAYE, and other applicable Kenyan labour laws and statutory requirements.
