Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and development of our data infrastructure and strategy. In this role, you will architect scalable data systems, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across data engineering. You will work closely with product, analytics, artificial intelligence, software engineers, and architects to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and optimized for business use cases. You will ensure that our data platforms are robust, secure, and optimized for business, product, and customer impact.
Job Details
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines (batch and real-time).
- Define and enforce data engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns.
- Build and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming systems to support analytics, BI, and AI/ML use cases.
- Build and optimize data architectures, including data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL/ELT processes
- Partner with stakeholders to define data strategy and governance frameworks (data quality, cataloging, lineage, and compliance).
- Optimize infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Drive observability, monitoring, and alerting for data platforms to ensure reliability and resilience.
- Collaborate with data analysts, AI engineers, and product engineers to deliver clean, consumable datasets for advanced analytics and machine learning.
- Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that enhance the company’s data capabilities
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience in data engineering or related field.
- Expertise in SQL and database technologies (relational and non-relational).
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, GO, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with big data frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop).
- Advanced knowledge of ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Apache Airflow, Talend).
- Strong background in data modeling, architecture design, and schema optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Preferably AWS) and their data services (e.g., Redshift, Athena, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Understanding of APIs, streaming technologies, and message brokers.
- Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2, etc.).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and align technical roadmaps with business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD for data systems (Terraform, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) for monitoring pipelines.
- Experience supporting AI and ML pipelines and MLOps practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
